Every lesson, practice session, and typing test on Learn-Typing is free, with no paid tier, no subscription, and no ads gating features. The classroom tools described below - teacher accounts, classes, join codes, and progress reports - are free as well. Students never need to pay or provide payment details to use any of it.
Getting a teacher account
Create a free account, then go to your profile page and request teacher access. There are two ways to get approved:
- Verify a school email address - if you have one, you get a code by email and teacher access is activated immediately, no waiting.
- Submit proof for review - a link to a page listing you as staff (like a school directory), or a photo of a school ID, reviewed by our team, usually the same day.
Creating a class and inviting students
- From your profile, open your classroom dashboard and create a class - give it any name, like a room number or period.
- You'll get a short join code for that class.
- Share the code with your students however you like - write it on the board, put it in an email, add it to your class page.
- Each student creates their own free account (or uses one they already have) and enters the code on their own profile page to join.
Tracking your students' progress
Your classroom dashboard lists every student who has joined, with lessons completed, best words-per-minute, and average accuracy for each one - updated automatically as they practice, no extra work on your end.
Printable reports for a student or the whole class
Any student's progress can be printed or saved as a PDF - useful for a parent-teacher conference, a portfolio, or a grade record. You can print one student's report individually, or the whole class at once, one report per page.

Do my students need their own accounts?
Yes, each student needs a free account so their progress can be tracked and joined to your class - it takes under a minute to sign up.
What if I don't have a school email address?
You can still get teacher access by submitting a link to a page that lists you as staff, or a photo of a school ID, for a quick manual review.
